Stier was also endorsed recently by both the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) DC 47 and the Transport Workers Union (TWU) Local 234. He has also lead issue campaigns that particularly help minorities and women including those in favor of affordable housing, an increased the minimum wage, and healthcare reform.

Reacting to news of the endorsements, Stier said, “I’m extremely pleased that my friends have recognized my work on the issues that are important to them and to the whole city. The labor endorsements recognize all the work we have done together to create a community-labor progressive partnership. They will be a big help for me on Election Day.”

These endorsements are in addition to Philadelphia National Organization for Women, Neighborhood Networks, and multiple bloggers. Stier’s work in the last decade building a politics of hope made him an obvious choice for these endorsements.
