Marc Stier, Democrat for City Council at Large, Receives Endorsement from UFCW

For Immediate Release

Philadelphia, PA: Today, Marc Stier, Democratic candidate for City Council at Large, received the endorsement from United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 1776.

Excited about the endorsement, Stier remarked, “I am very pleased to be endorsed by a powerful progressive union with whom I have worked closely with on many issues—from public transit to raising the minimum wage to blocking big box stores that undermine local businesses and unionized wage rates. The support of UFCW is a major addition to my campaign.”

Stier is a reform candidate running because the politics in Philadelphia is broken and is only working for those who are well connected politically. Stier will bring hope back to the city through innovative public policies that work for the whole city. Stier has worked with civic organizations, issue activists, and unions on many policy issues. He has already been endorsed by AFSCME District Council 47 and the Transit Workers Union, Local 234. More union endorsements are expected in the next week or so.
